Medical Matters Weekly Welcomes “Journaling for Health” Expert Lynda Monk

BENNINGTON, VT—January 11, 2022—Southwestern Vermont Health Care’s (SVHC) Medical Matters Weekly with Dr. Trey Dobson is pleased to welcome Lynda Monk, RSW, at 11 a.m. on January 19. Monk is a registered social worker, an expert in journaling for health, and director of the International Association for Journal Writing.

In addition to her work with the International Association for Journal Writing, Lynda is co-editor of Transformational Journaling for Coaches, Therapists, and Clients: A Complete Guide to the Benefits of Personal Writing (Routledge, June 2021) and the forthcoming book The Great Book of Journaling (Mango, June 2022). Monk has worked specifically with cancer patients who can use journaling for comfort and self-care and with health care workers managing the symptoms of burnout. Monk regularly teaches, writes, and speaks on the healing and transformational power of journaling and expressive writing. She lives with her family on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Medical Matters Weekly is an interactive, multiplatform, guest-driven, medical-themed talk show hosted by Dr. Trey Dobson. It provides a behind-the-scenes perspective on health care and the interesting personalities that drive positive change within the industry and its surrounding professions. Topics include behavioral health, food insecurity, equitable care, and the opioid crisis.
