SVMC Hospitalists

Let’s start with the basics: a hospitalist is a physician who is a specialist in the care of hospitalized patients. A member of SVMC’s hospitalists team follows your care from the moment you enter the hospital to the moment you leave, and often beyond—ensuring that the quality and continuity of your care is the absolute best it can be.

SVMC’s hospital medicine team is made up of 11 physicians board-certified in either internal medicine or family practice. Working closely with providers in every department of the hospital, they provide medical consultation, practice evidence-based medicine, and coordinate patient care at any time of the day or night. Because they’re on-site, our hospitalist team is able to follow up on diagnostic tests quickly and develop treatment plans more efficiently.
