ExpressCare LPN recognized for kindness and compassion with young patients

Bennington, VT—January 28, 2025—Jazmine Bushee, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s ExpressCare clinic was recently honored for her kindness and compassion on the job, particularly with young patients.

SVMC, a member of Dartmouth Health, awarded Bushee the PETAL Award earlier this month, which is an internal recognition given to staff who go above and beyond in their work. Nominations are submitted by colleagues and patients.

“She is routinely praised by patients, families and colleagues,” wrote Bushee’s nominator at ExpressCare. “She is noted to be one of the most patient and kind members of our team. One of the charge nurses recently said, 'she is the most patient nurse and is amazing with kids who have different needs.'"

Bushee also received praise from the mother of a child who came to ExpressCare with a bloody nose.

“She was so soft spoken and gentle,” the mother wrote. “She helped my daughter through it. My daughter said when she walked ‘I didn't know doctors were like this, she's my favorite doctor.’”
