If you’ve lost some of the independence needed for routine daily living due to an illness or injury, SVMC’s occupational therapy team can help you get it–and your life–back. The only occupational therapy treatment center in Southern Vermont, our patient-centered approach to care can help you return to everyday tasks and activities. Occupational therapists deliver care to three distinct groups: inpatients; outpatients; and patients and residents at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation (CLR).
The members of our OT team hold master's degreesin their field and provide services for many various specialties, ensuring you the most informed and advanced care program possible.
Specialty equipment available to outpatients includes a BTE Functional Simulator, which is a machine that allows you to practice and perfect hundreds of real-world job and daily living functions under the watchful eye of our caring professionals. Plus, we offer specialty splinting and wheelchair assessments to outpatients as well.
Short-term patients at CLR can use the Center's special apartment setting to practice the skills they will need to be successful at home. In addition, therapists can accompany residents to their homes or to the grocery store to ensure that patients will be able to accomplish all of the many tasks that may arise.
From injuries to the hand, brain, or back, to stroke recovery and pediatric needs, SVMC’s occupational therapy team will help you rediscover your best self. Our services include:
