Mountain Medical Services: Walk-in clinic opens in Deerfield Valley this weekend

For Immediate Release:

West Dover, VT—December 2, 2024—Mountain Medical Services, a walk-in medical clinic located at the base of Mount Snow, is opening for the season on Saturday, Dec 7.

Mountain Medical Services is owned and operated by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, a member of Dartmouth Health, and operates seasonally, providing weekend care for urgent medical needs to the Deerfield Valley community and its visitors. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday through March.

“Finding medical care on the weekends is a challenge, which is why we want families and residents of Deerfield Valley to be aware of this walk-in service,” said Trey Dobson, MD, Chief Medical Officer at SVMC and Vice President of Clinical Services. “Through a great partnership with Vail Resorts, our clinical staff are on-site throughout the ski season to treat urgent conditions like fever, respiratory illness, and injuries.”

The clinical team consists of providers who specialize in urgent care needs, nursing staff with emergency room experience, an X-ray technician and seasoned support staff. Patients have access to the clinic’s on-site digital X-ray and can receive follow-up care and diagnostic testing with specialists at SVMC.

The clinic offers special expanded hours during holidays and vacation weeks. For the 2024-5 season, extended hours include:

  • December 23-31 (closed Christmas Day)

  • January 20 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

  • Winter Vacation Week: February 17-21
