Starting Work
Credentialing & Privileging
Before you start work for Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H), the Medical Staff Office will complete the credentialing and privileging process.
Credentialing is the process of obtaining, verifying, and assessing the qualifications of a licensed health care practitioner, as required by the Joint Commission, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and the D-H Bylaws.
Privileging is the authorization that the D-H Boards of Trustees grants a practitioner to provide specific services based on factors such as license, training, experience, etc.
The D-H credentialing/privileging process takes approximately 12 weeks. Applicants are encouraged to keep this timeframe in mind.
