SVMC Cancer Center Nurses Celebrate Award

BENNINGTON, VT—February 11, 2020—Leaders and nurses from the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center, a part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) and Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), gathered in celebration of an award to commend having reached 100 percent oncology certified nurses.

In order to be eligible to take the certification exam, which is provided through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation, each nurse met continuing education and experience requirements. Each studied, took the extensive exam, and passed.

“An entire nursing team certified in a specialty can be rare,” said Cancer Center Nurse Manager Jenny Coutu, MSN, RN, OCN. “Having all nurses certified is a testament to the quality and commitment of our oncology nurses and supports our mission to provide the highest quality care to our patients.”
