Geriatrics Physician Joins SVMC Internal Medicine

BENNINGTON, VT—March 26, 2020— Internal Medicine practice at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is pleased to welcome Geriatrics Physician Lisa J. Downing-Forget, MD, MPH, CMD. With this appointment, Dr. Downing-Forget also joins the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group. She will see patients who are 65 years old and older.

Dr. Downing-Forget completed a family medicine residency at the University of Rochester in New York and earned her medical degree from Charles Drew University of the University of California Los Angeles. She also holds a master’s in Public Health from the University of California Los Angeles and a bachelor’s in Human Development & Family Studies from Cornell University in New York.

Dr. Downing-Forget has worked at Rochester Regional Health/Unity Geriatrics Associates, Park Ridge Living Center & Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, Hamilton Manor & Latta Road Nursing Homes, all in Rochester, NY, since 2013. Additionally, Dr. Downing-Forget holds a Certificate in Medical Direction (CMD) and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine. She is board certified in geriatrics and family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.

SVMC Internal Medicine provides primary care for patients 18 years and older. The practice is designated as a patient-centered medical home with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Blueprint for Health. The practice offers access to a dietitian, a diabetes educator, and other clinical professionals conveniently in the office.
