Support SVMC’s Matching Challenge for Telehealth Services

To Improve Access to Critical Care for All

Want to make a big difference with a small donation this Giving Tuesday?

On November 28, Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) Foundation needs your support for our Telehealth Endowment Campaign. This fund ensures patients have access to life-saving treatment and specialists within the Dartmouth Health system, while keeping them close to home and family.

Incredibly, this endowment received a generous $2 million match from an anonymous donor and our community has already helped us raise $1.3 million. Now, through December 31, we’re working to meet the remaining $700,000, to ensure this crucial service continues well in the future. This Giving Tuesday, an international day of philanthropy, is a pivotal moment in reaching our goal.

Giving Tuesday is annually celebrated on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, which is November 28 this year. With our match, every dollar donated will be doubled. It’s a powerful and simple way to give back during a busy time of year.

The Evolution of Telehealth at SVMC

Telehealth has undergone a remarkable evolution, especially in recent years. What began as a niche service has grown into an indispensable part of the healthcare landscape. The COVID-19 pandemic acted as a catalyst, propelling telehealth into the mainstream. It not only provided a safe means of receiving medical care during lockdowns but also highlighted the convenience and accessibility of virtual healthcare. The utilization of telehealth at SVMC includes Tele-Neurology, Tele-Stroke, Tele-ICU, and more, all staffed by Dartmouth Health specialists and used in conjunction with our experts at the hospital. These services have allowed many more of our patients to stay closer to home for their care, and receive immediate, life-saving services.

The Benefits of Telehealth

Telehealth offers an array of benefits that go beyond mere convenience. It provides access to medical expertise for those living in remote areas, eliminates travel time and costs, and reduces the risk of exposure to contagious diseases. Moreover, it facilitates ongoing care management within the hospital.

SVMC is committed to providing and expanding telehealth services to our regional communities. We invest $1M each year for the numerous telehealth services critical to the care we provide. This is where the Telehealth Endowment Campaign comes into play.

Giving Tuesday: A Call to Action

Please consider donating any amount this year, and/or sharing our campaign with your friends and contacts. Every dollar makes a difference and stays here in the community, impacting the lives of local patients.

Thank you for your support.
