Emily Yates Celebrates Legendary Divas at July 12 Benefit Concert

For Immediate Release:

MANCHESTER, VT—June 10, 2024— Celebrate the most iconic female artists of all time with acclaimed vocalist Emily Yates and her Broadway friends on Friday, July 12, at 7:30 pm, at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in the Arkell Pavilion.

Emily Yates, the star of The Show Must Go On on the Las Vegas Strip, takes you on a journey celebrating your favorite songs from some legendary divas like Donna Summer, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Adele and many more. Emily will be joined by Broadway’s Vaden Thurgood and Simon Pearl as they sing hits from the musical touring sensation, Jersey Boys.

Emily will be backed by a live band and lead by the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel and Casino’s Le Reve Musical Director, Robby Wingfield. Said to be, “sensational” and “entertaining” for all. Don’t miss this show!

Proceeds from the concert are in support of Southwestern Vermont Health Care Foundation’s Vision 2020, A Decade of Transformation, which includes building the new Hoyt-Hunter Cancer Center at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC).

This show is generously sponsored by the Ihasz Family and supported, in part, by The Equinox Resort and Spa.

“We are incredibly grateful to Nick and Mary Jane Ihasz and their family for supporting this fabulous concert for SVMC,” said Leslie Keefe, vice president of Corporate Development. “The new Hoyt-Hunter Cancer Center will have a positive impact on the care our exceptional team provides to our regional community for years to come. It is a critical resource for patients fighting this serious disease.”

Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased online at svmc.org/emilyyates or by calling 802-447-5017.

The Centers for Living and Rehabilitation

On Thursday afternoon, James Buccolo, a patient who had been recovering from COVID-19 at the Center’s for Living and Rehabilitation for several weeks, was discharged. A large group of CLR’s staff gathered outside and cheered him as he left. He turned around to them and made a short speech of thanks. See part of it here.

This touching story is just one small example of the important work happening at both of SVHC’s nursing facilities: the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington and the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. These places offer even more than exceptional health care. They offer a home and a family to many.

During National Skilled Nursing Care Week, we express humbling gratitude to the professionals who work with our elders and those with disabilities in our long-term and sub-acute care facilities. Their work requires skill and commitment. To do the job well, they know, also requires them to dedicate their whole hearts to it. And they do, every day.
