PERIOPERATIVE SERVICES

There’s more to preparing for surgery or a procedure than simply arriving the day of. SVMC’s perioperative services team provides the guidance, support, and high level of care to patients before, during, and after surgery, to ensure the best patient experience and surgical outcomes.

From the moment you and your physician decide on surgery, to the moment you leave the hospital, SVMC’s perioperative services team never stops caring for you.

Our departmental team includes members to conduct preoperative teaching, surgical intake, the operating room procedures, post anesthesia care, endoscopy, medical ambulatory care, and sterile processing. Together, we ensure that every aspect of your in- or outpatient procedure is handled with expertise and compassion. 

Beginning with scheduling your procedure and reviewing preparation instructions to providing the highest level of surgical care and post-op recovery, our team is with you at every step. It’s a patient-centered approach to care that our patients appreciate and others recognize. In fact, our ambulatory service was honored to receive Studer’s Award for Excellence in Patient Care.  SVMC is one of only three hospitals to be recognized with this award nationwide.
