SVMC Recognizes Medical Staff

BENNINGTON, VT—April 10, 2019— Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's (SVMC) medical staff was recognized at an annual event on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Bennington Museum.

Jennifer Thuermer, DNP, ACNP, of SVMC Cardiology, was awarded the 2019 Professional Teamwork Award. Thuermer earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Regis College in Weston, MA. She joined SVMC in 2000 after receiving her Master of Science and Post-Master Certificate as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC) from Sage Graduate School. She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Colby-Sawyer College. She is also an Associate of the American College of Cardiology (AACC).

Matthew Nofziger, MD, of SVMC Orthopedics, was presented with the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center 2019 Clinical Excellence Award. Nofziger received his undergraduate education at Goshen College in Indiana and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Fort Wayne Medical Center and a fellowship at Nirschl Orthopedic Clinic in Virginia. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

In addition to the awards, the event welcomed 11 new providers to the medical staff. Several providers were recognized for their years of service. Among them, Dr. James Carroll, of Twin Rivers Medical, P.C., in Hoosick Falls, NY, was honored for his 35-year service to the community, and Paul Graether, PA-C, of Mount Anthony Primary Care in Bennington, was honored for 25 years of service.
