Southwestern Vermont Health Care Welcomes Director of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement

BENNINGTON, VT—January 28, 2019—The Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) Corporate Development department is pleased to welcome Jennifer Civello as director of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement. This position will allow for the expansion of volunteer programs at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) and the health system’s several campuses.

“We are delighted that Jennifer, with her excellent mix of skills and experience, has decided to join our team,” said Leslie Keefe, vice president for Corporate Development at SVHC. “We look forward to engaging further with members of our community to fulfill our mission of exceptional care and comfort for the people we serve.”

For the past 4 years, Jennifer has served as the director of marketing for the Berkshire Family and Individual Resources in North Adams, MA. As executive director of the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce from 2012 – 2015, she managed a large membership and organized events. In addition, Civello has worked in several non-profit roles, including as a tobacco treatment program coordinator, as a caseworker for a children’s services organization, and as a community support coordinator for a non-profit serving adults with disabilities.

Civello serves as the clerk for board of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition; as a board member of Willinet, Williamstown’s public access television station; and on the steering committee for the Berkshire Leadership Program, a program of 1Berkshire.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me,” said Civello. “I am eager to enable greater involvement among our community members and to make a positive impact for patients.”
