New Associate Provider Joins Andrew Cowder, MD, at SVMC Urology

BENNINGTON, VT—March 20, 2019— Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) and Andrew Cowder, MD, are pleased to announce that Nurse Practitioner Stefanie McGowan, RN, AG-ACNP, has joined Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group and SVMC Urology. McGowan will practice in Suite 100 of the Medical Office Building at 140 Hospital Drive in Bennington.

McGowan received her Master of Science as an Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and her bachelor’s degree in nursing both from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York. Before that, she earned a bachelor’s in political science from Brown University in Rhode Island.

Since 2013, McGowan has worked as a nurse practitioner at the Shock Trauma Center, part of the University of Maryland Medical Center. Before that, she was a clinical Nurse in the Comprehensive Solid Organ Transplant Unit at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nursing.

Dr. Cowder received his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook. He completed residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He holds two bachelor’s degrees in applied physics and liberal arts, both from Columbia University in New York City. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association.

SVMC Urology offers consultation and diagnostic testing for wide range of urological problems. It is located in Suite 100 of the Medical Office Building at 140 Hospital Drive in Bennington. For more information, call 802-447-6253.
