United Counseling Service Invites Community to Attend Open House

Celebrate the opening of Healthy Options for Psychiatric Emergencies (HOPE) House

United Counseling Service (UCS) invites the community to attend an open house on Tuesday, May 28 for the new Healthy Options for Psychiatric Emergencies (HOPE House) program. The event will run from 4 to 6 p.m. at 1128 Monument Avenue, Bennington, VT.

Officially opened on May 1, HOPE House provides support to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in Bennington County. Developed as an alternative to a traditional hospital inpatient or residential setting, HOPE House uses therapeutic and sensory tools to treat children and adolescents in their own community, while allowing them to continue attending school and stay with their families. HOPE House includes Psychiatric Urgent Care for Kids (PUCK) for youth up to age 18 and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for elementary school-aged children experiencing mental health needs such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other challenges.

The open house will provide the opportunity for community members to meet HOPE House staff, explore the space, and learn about the program.

If you are unable to attend but would like to learn more about HOPE House and other UCS programs, visit ucsvt.org.
