Three Free Healthy Activities
There are a lot of healthy things going on in Bennington and the surrounding area. Here are three free opportunities to improve your health and wellness this month.
Free Community Bike Rides
Bennington Bike-Around Rides are free, family-friendly, and fun! Rides are beginner-level, roughly 30 minutes, and scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays in August, September, and October. They depart at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Bennington Town Office at 205 South Street. Riders receive Bennington-area eatery coupons at every ride. One per family.
Wellness Walks
Join Certified Health, Lifestyle, and Running Coach Andrea Malinowski of Optionz Health & Fitness, Wednesdays throughout August at the Park McCullough House. Walk and talk about healthy living, eating, movement opportunities, and more while enjoying nature and the Mile Around Woods. Bug repellant recommended. Walks depart at 7 p.m. from the side parking lot. It’s free of charge to all and no registration is required.
Vermont Foodbank's VeggieVanGo Program
A healthy life begins with healthy fuel. The Vermont Foodbank’s VeggieVanGo program offers free healthy fruits and vegetables to all without income qualifications or residency requirements. No reservations are needed. Pick up at any one of the following locations on the dates listed.
- 8:30 - 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
- 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.. Wednesday, August 25, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
- 8:30 - 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
- 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.. Wednesday, September 22, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
- 8:30 - 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
- 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.. Wednesday, October 27, at Lower Willow Park in Bennington
