SVMC Introduces 1-Day Childbirth Class
If you’re like most first time parents-to-be, you’ve heard countless labor stories from well-meaning friends and loved ones (and probably a few strangers, too). It is also likely that no two stories were alike which may have you feeling confused or concerned, and with more questions than answers about what to expect from your childbirth experience.
Put your mind at ease and find the information and insight you are looking for at a one-day childbirth education class at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC). The class provides an introduction to your birthing options at SVMC, what to expect when giving birth at SVMC, what to expect in labor, six Lamaze healthy birth practices, pain management options, and what to expect during the postpartum period. The class is on Saturday, August 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and led by members of SVMC’s OB/GYN team who recently participated in training related to effective movement and positioning in labor.
Open to all soon-to-be parents including those who have already experienced delivery and are looking for ideas and support on how to do things differently. The class is limited to five couples and the cost for the program is $40 per couple.
