Getting Ready for Baby at SVMC's Childbirth Class

SVMC will be hosting its next Childbirth Class on Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the hospital campus.

Designed for parents in their third trimester of pregnancy, the class covers the basics of childbirth, including birthing anatomy, stages of labor, birthing positions, meditation techniques, pain management strategies, as well as essential post-delivery care tips for babies and moms.

Taught by certified childbirth educators, the interactive class includes demonstrations, printed material, videos, in-depth discussions, and plenty of time for questions answers. The aim, says SVMC’s Ena Steffen, RN, “Is to give expectant parents the information they need to pursue their preferred birth experience with confidence.”

Expectant mothers and support persons, including doulas, are also encouraged to attend and participate in this important learning opportunity.
