Diabetes Education

When you have diabetes, seemingly simple daily decisions—including meal planning and exercise—can have big impact on your health. SVMC’s Diabetes Education program is designed to give you the knowledge to manage your condition, reduce risks of complications, and to help you enjoy the highest level of wellness possible.

SVMC’s diabetes education team includes three Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) who offer one-on-one consultations at most regional primary care offices and at SVMC. Our education program is tailored to provide you and your family with the knowledge and skills to successfully manage your diabetes.

Education topics include:

  • Understanding diabetes
  • How to monitor your blood glucose level
  • The importance and impact of nutrition
  • Healthy lifestyle choices
