New Class for Joint Replacement Patients

Joint189300WThe new Total Joint Replacement Class covers all of the information patients (and members of their support teams) need to prepare their bodies for a joint replacement surgery and their homes for recovery. Instructors address what patients can expect at each phase.

The class is conducted by many of the same professionals patients relate with during and just after their surgery, including: Sara Moulton RN, orthopedic nurse navigator (pictured right); Sue Ellen Burns, RN, from the Pre-Anesthesia Assessment Department; Staff Physical Therapist Sarah Ferguson, BSPT, DPT; and Occupational Therapist Michaelia St. Jacques, MS, OTR/L, CWCE. Patients will also meet case managers from the Health Resource Management Department and others.
