Real Parents, Real Questions

My granddaughter had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when she was younger. She has been in remission for several years. Is it safe to be vaccinated with Pfizer? Thanks!

There are very few medical reasons not to vaccinate. In fact, when a child has or has had a serious medical condition, it usually means that it’s even more important for them to get vaccinated. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all youth 12 and older, including your granddaughter. If you have questions about how your child’s medical condition affects recommendations for vaccination, it is best to speak with your child’s medical provider.
