Early Pregnancy Wellness Class

When you get pregnant, there’s a lot to know before you begin preparing to deliver and care for your baby. That’s why the  team of professionals at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center developed “Bump Ed,” a prenatal wellness class.

This Prenatal Wellness class  is a self-care activity, as it’s not just about the clinical aspects of pregnancy but also about understanding the emotional aspects of the process and of how to take care of yourself.

Ultimately, taking this pregnancy wellness class helps you take an active role in your own pregnancy, make informed decisions about your care, and get the support you need to have a great pregnancy.

This class is being conducted virtually on a temporary basis.

This is a free class, open to pregnant persons and their partner. It should be taken between when the pregnancy is confirmed and approximately 20 weeks of pregnancy.

This class covers:

  • Nutrition during pregnancy
  • The dos and don’ts for a healthy pregnancy
  • What to expect throughout your prenatal care experience
  • How to actively participate in your care through shared decision making
  • The benefits of feeding human milk
  • How to promote balance and flexibility, which can relate to a more enjoyable pregnancy
