BENNINGTON, VT—December 18, 2017—The 4th Annual Jingle Bell on December 2 at the Hermitage Club in Wilmington, VT, hosted a sold-out crowd of more than 200 people and raised $130,000 for Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC).

“The success of this event is thanks to our dedicated Jingle Bell Committee, our generous donors and community members, and our extraordinary sponsors,” said Leslie Keefe, SVHC’s vice president for corporate development. “We are inspired by the tremendous outpouring of support for our mission to provide exceptional care and comfort to the people we serve.”

The evening began with a cocktail reception and a raffle for a pair of Von Bargen’s Jewelers diamond hoop earrings. The excitement continued with an elegant dinner and a live auction of eight premium packages, including court-side VIP box seats for the U.S. Open of Tennis in New York donated by Richard and Pamela Ader and a 7-day trip to Las Cabos, Mexico, donated by Dr. and Mrs. John and Marie LaPenta. Finally, the Putnam Challenge, a call to emulate the generosity of hospital founders Henry W. Putnam and his son, rounded out the evening’s program before hours of fun-filled dancing to the New York Players.

The proceeds from the Putnam Challenge are dedicated to the construction of an all new SVMC Deerfield Valley Campus. The new clinic will be located on the same site as the current one in Wilmington. In the model of the newly constructed clinic in Pownal, VT, it will feature a covered drop off, spacious exam rooms, and on-site lab and X-ray services.

The Jingle Bell Committee included Katie Brooks, Sarah Fisher, Crista Gannon, Charles La Fiura, Judy La Fiura, Bruce Mullen, Nancy Mullen, Arlene Palmiter, Shelley Park, Robert Ruhl, Halie Ruhl, and Kristen Wallace.

The event was successful in part due to the generous support from sponsors, including Title Sponsor the Hermitage Club. Salem Dentistry was a presenting sponsor, while Flowers by Cara was a lead sponsor. Many supporting and host sponsors contributed as well.
