(802) 440-6080

The SVHC Auxiliary supports programs and services designed to enhance the health of our community through service and fundraising. The SVHC Auxiliary has given more than $1 million to SVHC over the past 20 years. Funds have been used for equipment, nursing scholarships, and for capital campaigns, to name a few.

The group is seeking new members. For more information and to join the SVHC Auxiliary, call (802) 440-6080.

Personal Emergency Response

SVHC Care Auxiliary staff and volunteers offer a Personal Emergency Response System called Philips Lifeline to our community. A pendant, communicator device, and corresponding service allow seniors to receive help with the push of a button. To find out more about Lifeline, phone (802) 447-5089 or visit.

In 2014, the Auxiliary donated more than $25,000 to the health system. Donations are used for modernization and major equipment purchases. Funds are raised through the Gift Shop, Corridor Art Gallery, and Independent Vendor Sales.

The work of a dedicated group of volunteers is crucial to providing exceptional care and comfort to the people we serve. With the support of the SVHC Auxiliary, volunteers provide much needed services in every corner of the health system. For more information about current volunteer openings visit the Volunteer Services page or call (802) 440-6080.

Ways to Support

Gift Shop

The SVMC Gift Shop is located on the first floor of the hospital, just inside the main entrance. Whether you are a patient or a visitor at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, the Gift Shop is a welcome retreat, offering a variety of gift items available for purchase.  Staffed by volunteers, the Gift Shop offers fresh flowers, reading material, greeting cards, candy, jewelry, photo frames and plush toys.

The Gift Shop is open Monday—Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. All proceeds benefit the programs of the SVHC Auxiliary. Call (802) 447-5511 for more information.

Corridor Art Gallery

The gallery exhibits the work of local artists, craftspeople, children, senior citizens, and SVHC staff. Much of the artwork is for sale through the Gift Shop. Proceeds benefit the artist and the Auxiliary. The gallery is managed by volunteers. For more information, e-mail

Independent Vendor Sales

The Auxiliary invites a variety of local and regional merchants to participate in sponsored sales at the hospital. The Auxiliary receives a portion of the gross sales, which are used to promote programs and services at SVHC. All sales are open to the public.
