Learning to adjust to the requirements of dialysis isn’t always easy. At SVMC we strive to provide the state-of-the-art dialysis services you need.

Based on the Bennington campus, our renal services unit features nine outpatient hemodialysis stations.

Our team of RNs and hemodialysis technicians are all nationally certified and have participated in the national 5-Diamond Safety Program since 2008.

In 2015, we were recognized with an award for excellence by the New England IPRO End Stage Renal Disease Network of New England as well as the National Nephrology Certification Advocacy Award from the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission.

More important than accolades and awards is the compassionate care and support we offer to help you manage your dialysis and your day-to-day life.

Our Services

When your kidneys are no longer healthy enough to sufficiently filter wastes, salts, and fluids from your blood, hemodialysis may be recommended. Hemodialysis is the most common way to treat advanced kidney failure and involves using a machine to act like an artificial kidney and do the filtering your kidneys can’t. While the procedure can help you carry on an active life it does require you to follow a strict treatment and medication schedule, and, usually, make changes in your diet. Your SVMC care team will support you throughout the process and help you adhere to the demands of your treatment and enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Transient Dialysis

With advance notice, we happily provide transient dialysis to vacationers and visitors. Please contact our offices at least two weeks before your visit to confirm a reservation.
