SVHC TODAY: Virtual COVID Q & A for Bennington

and Nearby Towns

Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) will host a free COVID webinar featuring its clinical experts for residents of Bennington and nearby towns 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 6. The event will include the latest advice on travel, vaccinations, COVID and flu prevention, and an interactive Q & A session with SVHC’s physicians. It is one of five such webinars planned region-wide throughout the month. Attendees are encouraged to register and submit their questions in advance here.

The events are part of an annual series known as SVHC Today. SVHC’s President and CEO Tom Dee will kick off each of the five events with health system updates, before passing the virtual podium to clinical experts.

The panelists for each session include the hospital’s chief medical officer, infectious disease physician and a primary care provider from the region. They will answer both pre-submitted and live questions during the session. Panelists for the Bennington SVHC Today include:

Trey Dobson, MD, received his bachelor’s degree in physics from The University of the South in Tennessee, a master’s degree in geology from the University of Wyoming and his medical degree from The University of Tennessee. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Virginia. He lives in Bennington with his wife and two sons.

Kim Fodor, MD, is an internal medicine physician providing primary care at the SVMC Internal Medicine in Bennington. She received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of Vermont and her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Fodor completed two residencies, one each in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Marie George, MD is an infectious disease specialist at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) Infectious Disease and the chair of Antibiotic Stewardship at SVMC. She received her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and attended University of Connecticut as an undergraduate. She completed her residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and a fellowship at Tufts University/New England Medical Center, both in Boston. Dr. George is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Additional SVHC Today events are scheduled for 6 – 7 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, October 13: Manchester and the Northshire
  • Monday, October 19: Wilmington and the Deerfield Valley
  • Wednesday, October 21: Williamstown, MA, and the Northern Berkshires
  • Thursday, October 29: Hoosick Falls, NY
