Spiritual Support and Counseling

At SVMC, we believe that faith and spiritual practice helps patients cope with illness and recovery. Our volunteer chaplains offer spiritual guidance. And our counselors help patients make sense of treatments, finances, and end-of-life issues.

Spiritual Support
Clergy from all faiths and denominations are welcome at SVMC. Volunteer chaplains regularly visit our hospitalized patients. If you would like to speak with our chaplain or to request a representative from a particular faith, please let us know.

Chapel and Healing Garden
SVMC has two special areas for quiet reflection. Our non-denominational chapel and the Parmelee Garden are both located near the Intensive Care Unit and 2-West.

Counseling
Our Social Services staff offer emotional support and help patients understand their treatment options, financial considerations, and end-of-life care planning. They can be reached by speaking with a nurse or by calling (802) 447-5079.
