Patient Privacy at SVMC

We respect your right to privacy. That means you have the right to limit access to information about your medical condition.

When you were admitted to SVMC, we informed you of your right not to be listed in our facility directory. If you choose not to be listed, we will not tell anyone you are here, including your family or close friends.

If you change your mind about this decision, please tell your nurse.

Patient Inquiries
Typically when someone calls the switchboard and asks for a patient by name, we check our facility directory. If the patient's name appears in the directory, we transfer that call to the patient's room. For information about how we handle calls about patients from the news media, visit about News Media Inquiries.
