Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) is pleased to announce that Chittenden Bank, a division of People’s United Bank, will be the Title Sponsor of the Masters in the Mountains Golf Tournament for a third consecutive year. The annual benefit tournament will be held on Friday, June 18, at the Golf Club at Equinox in Manchester.

“We are extremely grateful to Chittenden Bank for their continued support as Title Sponsor of our annual tournament,” said Thomas Dee, SVHC president and CEO. “Chittenden has been a significant supporter of SVHC since 1993. Whether it is through sponsorship of events or financial support for patient services, Chittenden has continually pledged their commitment to the health and well-being of our community.”

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will help the hospital purchase 65 new beds for patient rooms. The new beds will help improve patient care. They are more comfortable, which will ensure hospital patients get the rest they need to recover. A number of enhanced patient safety measures are built into their design to help prevent falls and reduce the chances a patient will develop skin problems.

“Masters in the Mountains is a premier golf event, and we are pleased to once again partner with SVHC in this annual benefit,” said Shelley Colvin, financial services manager at Chittenden Bank on Main Street in Bennington. “The bank is honored to support SVHC,” added Colvin. “Chittenden has a strong local presence in the Bennington and Manchester areas and is proud to be amongst donors who recognize community support is essential to ensure access to high-quality health care where we work and raise our families.”

Dr. Michael Brady, member of the SVHC board of trustees and tournament chair, said that the health system is grateful for the support. “I am really proud of our community's support of this tournament and the continued support from Chittenden. Our corporate community has helped this event evolve into ‘the tournament you must play in.’ I am pleased to be a part of its success.”

The $15,000 title sponsorship is one of more than a dozen sponsorships available. Other opportunities still remain for businesses or individuals to support SVHC, starting at $1,500. Sponsors at all levels are invited to field a team in the tournament. For more information about becoming a Masters in the Mountains sponsor or putting together a team, contact PJ Venti of the SVHC Development Office at (802) 440-4024.
