SVMC Welcomes Dr. DeHaas to Hoosick Falls
BENNINGTON — Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is pleased to welcome Dr. Sherri L. DeHaas to Village Primary Care at 140 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.
“When I visited the area, I realized how wonderful and down-to earth the people of the Hoosick Falls area are,” said Dr. DeHaas. “You get the sense that they have worked hard for what they have. I wanted to be a part of that and Village Primary Care seemed like the perfect fit.”
Dr. DeHaas comes to upstate New York from Pennsylvania, where she last practiced family medicine as part of group practice in Altoona. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami in Florida and is certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She completed her residency in family practice with the Altoona Family Physicians Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. DeHaas has special interests in women’s health, mental health, and alternative medicine such as Reiki.
She and her husband, Keith, a medical technician, recently moved to the area. “A community’s cultural, neighborhood, and outdoor opportunities are also important to me.” said Dr. DeHaas. “I enjoy participating in community education and health fairs. It’s a great way to meet people.” Even her dog Alex gets involved. “Alex is a trained pet therapy dog. Together we visit nursing homes and other events.”
Dr. DeHaas is also a member of the national women’s four-part harmony singing group, the Sweet Adelines.
“Dr. Carroll, Dr. Romac, and the staff at Village Primary Care are all such genuine people. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with them.”
