You must have been a beautiful baby!
BENNINGTON – Bennington professional photographer Irene Goyette (www.irenegoyette.com) recently donated 12 framed photographs of infants and their parents to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC).
The black and white images of newborns are hanging in the Women’s and Children’s Services unit of the hospital. The photos depict the babies being held by their mothers and fathers in different poses.
Goyette said she donated the pictures to inspire the new parents who come to SVMC. “I wanted the pictures to comfort the new parents who walk the halls while waiting to give birth to their own sons and daughters,” stated Goyette. Goyette, whose studio is in Bennington, specializes in portraits of families and children.
Staff members at the hospital also enjoy viewing the images. We just love them,” said Pamela Schnare, a nurse and board certified lactation consultant at SVMC. “They really do calm and encourage the new mothers and their families as they prepare for their child’s birth.”
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is a part of Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC). SVHC is a community-based, not-for-profit health system that exists solely for the benefit of the communities it serves. SVHC has a quest to make the communities it serves the healthiest in the nation.
