BENNINGTON, VT—March 28, 2017—Area artists, photographers, and orthopedics leaders will judge the Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) Active Lifestyle Photo Contest. Submissions are being accepted now through April 1 at svhealthcare.org/photocontest.
Judges include Artist Rita Dee and Greg Nesbit of Greg Nesbit Photography, both of Bennington. SVMC Orthopedics staff—including Jonathan Cluett, MD; Marie Hemeon, and Practice Manager Donna Parmenter—will also review submissions and choose favorites. The public will be invited to vote for people’s choice via social media at facebook.com/svmedicalcenter.
Winners from two categories, Youth photographers (18 years and younger) and Adult photographers (19 years and older), will be honored. The top prize is $300. Photographs will be featured at SVMC Orthopedics’ newly remodeled location on Dewey Street in Bennington, which scheduled for completion this spring.
Community members are encouraged to submit photos. The aim is to celebrate health and the local outdoor and indoor venues for living actively, like playing fields, hiking and biking trails, and tennis and soccer complexes.
Entrants can submit photos for consideration electronically at svhealthcare.org/photocontest through April 1.
The judges will evaluate the photos based on creativity, photographic quality, genuineness, connection to local community, and relation to health. Preference will be given to photos with a connection to the local area, including Southwestern Vermont, Western New York, and Northern Massachusetts.
