BENNINGTON, VT—September 14, 2016— Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is pleased to welcome Gastroenterologist Adnan Sohail, MD, to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group. Sohail is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Dr. Sohail received his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed research training at Yale University in Connecticut and both an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital, which is affiliated with Yale University.
Sohail completed a gastroenterology fellowship at University of California, San Diego, and a fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at University of Massachusetts, Worcester. His research has appeared in several peer-reviewed journals, and he has made presentations at national medical conferences. Sohail specializes in advanced therapeutic procedures, including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (also known as ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound, pancreatic biopsy, stone removal from the bile duct, and palliative stenting. His interests are in pancreatic and biliary problems.
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s Gastroenterology practice diagnoses and treats a full range of digestive disorders including disorders of the stomach, esophagus, intestines, liver and pancreas. Board-certified gastroenterologists and their supporting medical team focus on evaluating and managing conditions with the aim of restoring good digestive health. In addition, the practice offers Saturday hours for colonoscopy screenings.
