Emergency Medicine

In an emergency, training and experience counts. That's why the physicians at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's Emergency Department are all certified in emergency medicine and all have trained at some of the nation's busiest emergency rooms. Many of our nurses also are specially trained in emergency medicine. Thousands of times a year, our team puts this training to use in caring for people with life threatening illnesses, such as a stroke, heart attack, or trauma. We specialize in offering advanced treatment protocols and individual quality care using a multidisciplinary approach.

SVMC's Emergency Department is one of only a handful in the country to be given the coveted Press Ganey Summit Award four years in a row for quality of care.
