Those suffering from painful joints can register to attend this free class. It is appropriate for both patients who are scheduled for a joint replacement surgery and for those trying to decide if a joint replacement is right for them. The Total Joint Replacement Class covers all of the information patients need to prepare their bodies for surgery and their homes for recovery. Instructors address what patients can expect before, during, and after. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet many of the people they will see in the hospital, should they choose to have a joint replacement, and to meet other patients going through their same experience.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a support person along to the class. This ‘joint replacement coach,’ usually a spouse, family member, or friend, can prepare alongside the patient.
Each registration includes the patient and a support person. This ‘joint replacement coach’ may be a spouse, family member, or friend who is expected to be with the patient throughout their preparation, procedure, and recovery.
